Three men from Kansas City, Missouri, have been indicted by a federal grand jury for their involvement in a burglary conspiracy targeting beauty product and liquor stores across seven states. The individuals charged are Gary Bailey, 24, Jermaine Threat, 25, and Dalvin Poindexter, 26. They face a nine-count indictment that was initially sealed but made public after the arrests and initial court appearances of Bailey and Poindexter.
The indictment accuses the trio of stealing merchandise valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars during burglaries carried out between March 2023 and January 2024. The targeted locations were in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Indiana, and Texas. According to the indictment details, the conspirators would break storefront glass to enter after business hours and steal items such as fragrances, cosmetics, liquor, spirits, among other goods.
Allegedly using Facebook Marketplace and Facebook Stories for selling stolen merchandise, they reportedly received payments either in cash or through peer-to-peer services like CashApp. It is also alleged that some stolen items were kept for personal use or given away to friends and family.
In addition to conspiracy charges, all three men face seven counts related to transporting stolen property across state lines.
Assistant U.S. Attorney John Constance is prosecuting this case. Investigations were conducted by IRS-Criminal Investigation alongside multiple law enforcement agencies including the Olathe Police Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol.
"The charges contained in this indictment are simply accusations," notes the official statement on the case's status before trial proceedings determine guilt or innocence.
