A Kansas City, Kansas man has been sentenced in federal court for his involvement in a fentanyl distribution conspiracy. Alonso Alfredo Nunez, also known as "Bullet," 20, received a 15-year sentence from U.S. District Judge Greg Kays on January 23. This sentence is to be served without the possibility of parole.

Nunez had pleaded guilty on April 10, 2024, to participating in the conspiracy alongside co-defendant Jaloany Garcia-Medina, also known as "J. Lo," 22. Both individuals were involved in selling fentanyl to a confidential informant working with the Jackson County Drug Task Force.

During the six-month period from July 25 to December 18, 2022, Nunez and Garcia-Medina sold approximately 1,000 fentanyl pills on each of six separate occasions. An FBI confidential source reported that Nunez was supplied with between 200 and 500 fentanyl-laced pills weekly during this time frame.

Garcia-Medina has also pleaded guilty to her role in the drug-trafficking conspiracy and is awaiting sentencing.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Trey Alford and was investigated by the Jackson County Drug Task Force and the FBI.
