A nurse at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to child pornography. Paul Robert Wyatt, 56, from Excelsior Springs, Missouri, faces a three-count indictment that was initially sealed and later made public following his arrest and initial court appearance.

Wyatt is accused of distributing child pornography over the internet on September 9, 2023. Additionally, he is charged with receiving child pornography on October 12, 2023, and possessing child pornography involving a victim under the age of 12 on November 22, 2023.

The indictment states these charges are accusations and not evidence of guilt. The evidence must be presented to a federal trial jury to determine Wyatt's guilt or innocence.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Maureen A. Brackett is prosecuting the case after an investigation conducted by the FBI.

This case falls under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project aims to locate and prosecute individuals who exploit children while also identifying and rescuing victims.
