Fifteen individuals have been indicted by a federal grand jury in Springfield, Missouri, for their involvement in a drug-trafficking conspiracy. This follows the seizure of 100 pounds of methamphetamine and a kilogram of fentanyl pills from a vehicle being transported from San Bernardino, California, to Springfield.
The indictment includes Stevie Delane Logan Jr., Daron Cortez Kelly, Damion Williams, Necole Jennings, Osric Rashaad Edwards, Shawn Weston Morris, Rikkita Charnay Tolbert from Parsons, Kansas; William Edward McKinzie, Juston Dean Crane, Gary Jay Watkins Jr. from Joplin, Missouri; James Richard Sharp from Seneca, Missouri; Jon Kurtis Smith from El Dorado, Kansas; Christuffer Allen Roeder from Independence, Kansas; William Earl Troester Jr. from Wichita, Kansas; and Kylei Paige Sullivan from St. Paul, Kansas.
The charges stemmed from an investigation that began on January 17 when Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers discovered drugs hidden in a Dodge Magnum on a car hauler at an Oklahoma City truck stop. The vehicle was then delivered to Springfield under controlled conditions by Drug Enforcement Administration agents.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica R. Eatmon is prosecuting the case with support from multiple law enforcement agencies including the DEA and ATF.
"The charges contained in this indictment are simply accusations," stated authorities involved in the case. "Evidence supporting the charges must be presented to a federal trial jury."
This operation is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) initiative aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations through coordinated efforts among various agencies.
