A Kansas City man has been sentenced in federal court as the last defendant in a scheme to steal over 100 firearms from vehicles across the Westport entertainment district and other areas in the metropolitan region. The stolen firearms were later sold through social media.

Treyon Bloodsoe, aged 22, received a sentence of seven years and three months in federal prison without parole. U.S. District Judge Greg Kays also ordered him to pay $1,500 in restitution, which he shares liability for with the other defendants involved.

Bloodsoe pleaded guilty on October 26, 2023, admitting his involvement in the conspiracy to receive, possess, and sell stolen firearms. He confessed to breaking into vehicles to steal firearms and using social media to advertise them for sale. Among these transactions was the sale of a Glock handgun to a juvenile. Court documents reveal that between June 18 and November 19, 2021, Bloodsoe and his accomplices stole more than 100 firearms from vehicle break-ins.

During a search of his residence on November 4, 2021, law enforcement found Bloodsoe in possession of a stolen Glock 10mm handgun and a KelTec 5.56x45mm rifle.

Bloodsoe is the fifth person sentenced in this case; all are residents of Kansas City. Rayquan Duane Pettaway was sentenced to eleven years and eight months; Roy Rushing received nine years and two months; Drevion Hooker got seven years and one month; Bobby Lamb was sentenced to eleven years—all without parole.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stefan C. Hughes prosecuted this case with investigations conducted by the Kansas City Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
