Governor Parson Announces Five Judicial Appointments

Governor Mike Parson has announced five judicial appointments in Missouri, including appointments to the Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District, and various Judicial Circuits. The appointments were made to fill vacancies and bring new talent to the judiciary in the state.

The Honorable Matthew P. Hamner, currently serving as a circuit judge for the 26th Judicial Circuit, has been appointed to the Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District. Judge Hamner, who holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Columbia, will be filling a vacancy left by the appointment of the Honorable Ginger K. Gooch to the Missouri Supreme Court.

Alyssa M. Mayer, an assistant prosecuting attorney in Cass County, has been appointed as Associate Circuit Judge for Cass County in the 17th Judicial Circuit. Ms. Mayer, with a background in political science and a Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis, will be filling a vacancy created by the passing of the Honorable Jeffrey L. Cox.

Philip M. Fuhrman, currently an assistant prosecuting attorney in Greene County, has been appointed as Associate Circuit Judge for the 31st Judicial Circuit. Mr. Fuhrman, with a Bachelor of Science in political science and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, will be filling a vacancy left by the appointment of the Honorable Nathan R. Taylor as Circuit Judge.

The Honorable Robert Z. (Zac) Horack, an associate circuit judge for Scott County in the 33rd Judicial Circuit, has been appointed as Circuit Judge for the 33rd Judicial Circuit. Judge Horack, with a background in biological sciences, public health, and a Juris Doctor from St. Louis University, will be filling a vacancy left by the retirement of the Honorable David A. Dolan.

Lastly, Melissa L. Stewart, owner of the Law Office of Melissa L. Stewart, has been appointed as Associate Circuit Judge for Howell County in the 37th Judicial Circuit. Ms. Stewart, with a Bachelor of Science in communication and a Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa, will be filling a vacancy left by the retirement of the Honorable Donna K. Anthony.
