Kansas City business owners are being reminded by the City of Kansas City Revenue Division about the upcoming deadline for their annual business license applications and payments. According to the announcement, the 2024 Business License Application must be filed electronically at kcmo.gov/quicktax. The consequences of missing the deadline are clear, as stated by the Revenue Division, "Failure to file and make payment by February 29 will result in penalties and interest being assessed."

In addition, businesses that are new or those undergoing changes such as location, name, or legal structure are required to take action. They must complete a registration application, which can be done online at kcmo.gov/quicktax or submitted in person to the Business License Office at City Hall - 414 East 12th St. 1st Floor, Kansas City, MO 64106. The importance of this requirement is underscored by the statement, "New businesses or existing businesses changing their location, name or legal structure are required to complete a registration application."

For those with inquiries or needing clarification regarding their business license obligations, the Revenue Division Business License Section is available for assistance. They can be reached at 816-513-1120, as emphasized in the communication, "Taxpayers who have questions about their business license obligations may contact the Revenue Division Business License Section at 816-513-1120."
