The Bulldog Softball team got back on track Sunday in Florida with a 10-0 win over the University of New Haven and a 5-0 victory over Molloy University.  Alex Beard had a big day at the plate as she collected five hits in seven at bats and drove in four runs.

The Bulldogs conclude their spring break trip on Monday with two more contests. They will play Saint Michael's College at 2 p.m. followed by a game with Alliance University at 4:30 p.m. All times Eastern.

Alex Beard went 2-for-3 and both her, Cameryn Patterson and Breianna Klein all drove in two runs each while Klein and Brooke Nutter combined on the shutout in the opener.

Mackenzie West drew a bases loaded walk for the first run of the game and Klein followed with a two-run double to right scoring Beard and Patterson for an early 3-0 start.

Patterson brought in Macy Taylor on a sac fly in the second for a 4-0 lead and Truman busted it open with a six-run third.

The first three runs in the third came via a pair of walks to Taylor and Cassie Smith and a hit by pitch on Emily Eberwine.  Following a pitching change, Patterson drew the bases on balls and Beard followed with a two-run single up the middle to make it 10-0.

Klein allowed no runs on three hits through four innings and Nutter fanned two in her one inning of relief work.

Truman State 5, Molloy University 2

Alex Beard added three more hits on the day, including a triple to start the scoring for the Bulldogs in the first inning of game two. Beard's triple brought in Cassie Smith and Cameryn Patterson for the 2-0 lead.

Molloy got a run back in their half of the opening stanza.

Brooke Nutter doubled to right field to start the second and she would score on Smith's two-out single to center. After Smith swiped second, Eberwine was hit by a pitch and Patterson drilled a single to left brining in Smith for the 4-1 advantage.

Breianna Klein singled in Macy Taylor, who was pinch running for Beard, in the fifth to make it 5-1 Bulldogs.

Molloy answered with a run back in the bottom of the fifth but left a pair of runners aboard.

The Bulldogs turned a double play in the sixth and left two runners in place in the seventh to pick up the win.

Nutter had two doubles during the game while Smith went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.

Annabel Zimmer went the distance to pick up the win and struck out five with one earned run through the seven innings.
