Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been named the "AFC Offensive Player of the Week" following his performance in Sunday night's game against the Detroit Lions. Mahomes completed 22 of 30 passes, accumulating 257 yards and scoring four total touchdowns during the victory. This is the second time in three weeks that Mahomes has received this recognition, having also won the award after Week 4.

Mahomes has thrown for 1,514 yards and 11 touchdowns so far this season. He has also rushed for 222 yards and four additional touchdowns. His 15 total offensive touchdowns are currently the highest in the NFL through Week 6.

This is the 12th time in his career that Mahomes has earned the "Player of the Week" honor. The Kansas City Chiefs are scheduled to play a divisional game against the Las Vegas Raiders next Sunday.

"Another week, another accolade for quarterback Patrick Mahomes."

"Mahomes was named the 'AFC Offensive Player of the Week' on Wednesday after completing 22-of-30 passes for 257 yards and four total touchdowns in Sunday night's victory over the Detroit Lions. Mahomes, who also won the award following his performance in Week 4, has now done so twice in the last three weeks."

"The veteran quarterback has thrown for 1,514 yards and 11 touchdowns so far this season while rushing for another 222 yards and four scores. In fact, Mahomes' 15 total offensive touchdowns are the most of any player in the NFL through Week 6."

"This marks Mahomes' 12th career 'Player of the Week' award, and now with a divisional matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders on deck, he'll look to stack another strong performance this upcoming Sunday."
