Sporting Kansas City has confirmed its participation in the 2026 Coachella Valley Invitational (CVI), marking the club's second consecutive appearance at the event. The preseason tournament will be held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, from February 7 to 21, 2026.

The CVI is recognized as one of the largest preseason events for professional soccer in North America. It brings together men's and women's teams from Major League Soccer (MLS) and the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). This year’s edition coincides with preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in the United States. Organizers expect that several MLS players who will represent their countries at the World Cup will participate in the invitational.

The event is supported by both MLS and NWSL. It includes preseason matches, training sessions, and organizational meetings for participating clubs.

Dan Beckerman, President and Chief Executive Officer of AEG, stated: “AEG is proud to once again partner with MLS and the NWSL to bring the best of professional soccer to the Coachella Valley. Through Goldenvoice and the LA Galaxy, we’re thrilled to transform one of the world’s most iconic festival settings into a showcase for the sport, the players, and the fans.”

Tickets for all competition dates will be available to purchase starting Thursday, October 16 at noon Central Time through www.coachellavalleyinvitational.com. General Admission Day Passes begin at $30, while Weekend Passes start at $59. VIP Passes offer additional amenities such as preferred parking, access to a lounge area with food and beverages, VIP restrooms, and shaded seating.

The CVI aims to provide an environment where clubs can prepare for their upcoming seasons using high-quality facilities under favorable weather conditions. Fans attending can expect close-up experiences with prominent players as well as emerging talent. There will also be special activities throughout the two-week event.

Sarah Gregorius, Senior Director of Sporting for NWSL, commented: “Building upon our collaboration with AEG, the Coachella Valley Invitational has become an important platform for our clubs to prepare collectively and showcase the continued growth of the women’s game. We're looking forward to another productive preseason and the chance for our teams to build momentum ahead of the NWSL's next campaign.”

Nelson Rodriguez, Executive Vice President of Sporting Product and Competition for MLS added: “Coaches and players consistently point to the high-quality facilities, professional environment, and unique setting as ideal for preseason preparations. With 2026 set to be a landmark year for soccer in North America, CVI is an exceptional way for global futbol fans and MLS clubs to kick off the season.”

Further details about participating clubs, match schedules, and fan experiences are expected soon.

The Empire Polo Club spans over 250 acres of gardens and polo fields. It regularly hosts major events including music festivals like Coachella Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach Festival.
