Sporting Kansas City II is set to face LAFC 2 on Sunday at 9 p.m. CT at Titan Stadium in Fullerton, California. This match marks the second meeting between the two teams in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season. Fans can watch the game on MLSNEXPro.com or the MLS YouTube channel.
In their previous encounter, LAFC emerged victorious with a 3-0 win over SKC II at Children's Mercy Victory Field on May 23. Last season, Sporting KC II defeated LAFC 2 in a high-scoring 4-3 match on MLS NEXT Pro Decision Day. Jack Kortkamp secured his first professional win during that game and made three saves.
Kortkamp recently participated in the 2025 MLS NEXT All-Star Game in Austin, Texas, representing Sporting Kansas City and the SKC Academy. He has made seven appearances this season and leads all SKC II goalkeepers with 29 saves.
Forwards Bryan Arellano and Medgy Alexandre are leading SKC II's offense with two goals each this season. Maouloune Goumballe tops the team with three assists. Other players contributing to the team's scoring include Nati Clarke, Johann Ortiz, and captain Cielo Tschantret from the SKC Academy.
Head coach Istvan Urbanyi's midfield received a boost with the acquisition of Blaine Mabie, a former Georgetown Hoya who brings four years of collegiate experience to SKC II. Mabie served as captain for Georgetown in 2024 and helped lead them to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.

LAFC 2 is led by coach Junior Gonzalez and currently sits in 12th place in the West. Their top scorers are Tommy Mihalic and DeCarlo Guerra, each with five goals this season. Since their victory over SKC II, they have won two out of seven matches, both at home.
After Sunday's game against LAFC 2, Sporting KC II will continue their road trip to face Vancouver Whitecaps 2 on Thursday, July 31. They will conclude a series of three matches within eight days by hosting Austin FC II at Children's Mercy Victory Field on Sunday, August 3.
