A Kansas City man has been indicted for producing child pornography that depicted the sexual assault of a 3-year-old victim. Michael Adden, 26, faces multiple charges including producing, attempting to produce, distributing, and possessing child pornography.

The indictment against Adden accuses him of producing child pornography involving the victim between November 14, 2023, and February 6, 2024. The investigation began after reports of Adden uploading child pornography to various social media platforms.

Law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Adden's residence on April 11, 2024, where they found numerous electronic devices containing child pornography. Adden remains in federal detention without bond as the case progresses.

The charges are accusations, and Adden is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a federal trial jury. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth W. Borgnino and investigated by the FBI and the Kansas City Police Department.

The prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children, as well as to rescue victims.
