132 coaches at institutions in Jackson County earned $44,436 on average in 2022

Jackson County’s 132 coaches earned an average salary of $44,436 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 15th highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Missouri post-secondary schools during 2022.

Jackson County is home to four post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, University of Missouri-Kansas City stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $123,662.

Male coaches of men's teams received $54,230 on average in Jackson County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $46,494.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
