County offices in Jackson County are set to gradually re-open following a cyber attack. The Recorder of Deeds will open to the public on Tuesday, April 16, while the Assessment & Collections department will be open this week by appointment only. Taxpayers are being contacted to schedule appointments and are advised not to call for appointments.

According to county officials, the Assessment & Collection offices will be open to previously scheduled appointments only from Tuesday to Friday, with a reminder not to call for appointments. Starting Monday, April 22, the Assessment & Collection department will be open for walk-ins.

Jackson County offices will open at 8:00 a.m., with officials emphasizing that there is no need to arrive before 7:30 a.m. Taxpayers are encouraged to utilize online services for tasks such as paying taxes, obtaining receipts, waivers, or completing declarations. More information can be found on the county's website at www.jacksongov.org.

For individuals seeking to obtain a waiver or set up a new account, they can email the office at IPP@jacksongov.org. It is important to note that there is a 14 business days turnaround time on emailed documents.

This phased reopening of county offices aims to ensure a smooth transition back to regular operations following the cyber attack.
