Two losses to Cowley County ended the series for the KCKCC baseball team Friday afternoon, as the Blue Devils fell 5-4 and 8-6 on the road.
KCKCC is now 13-10 overall and 2-6 in the KJCCC.
The Blue Devils added two runs between the second and third innings in the first contest. Hector Candelas hit a home run in the second frame, before Jackson Mervosh scored on an error by the Tigers. Cowley tied the game in the fourth, but KCKCC added another pair of runs in the fifth inning to regain the lead. Gehrig Goldbeck and Matthew Buffington both scored in the inning.
Cowley would tie the game in the sixth frame, before walking it off in the ninth to win the game.
Game two started with the Blue Devils scoring again as Jett Buck came across the plate. Cowley tied it in the bottom of the first and added three runs in the second to take a 4-1 lead. KCKCC added a pair of runs in the third off an error by Cowley, and took the lead in the fifth when Buffington hit a two-run home run.
Cowley would answer once again in the bottom of the fifth, which led to them earning the win later on.
Hector Candelas led the team with six RBI on the day.
KCKCC returns to action on Tuesday when they play at Baker University JV at 4 p.m.
