Residents and businesses in Kansas City can now file certain police reports online, saving time and travel to a police station.
Our new online reporting system allows you to self-report a crime or make a request.
Eligible reports include traffic complaints, theft, property damage, non-injury accidents, shoplifting, extra patrol requests, and more.
To be accepted, reports must meet requirements and not all crimes are eligible for online filing. File a police report here - https://www.kcpd.org/.../online-citizen-reporting-system/.
To help curtail violent crime amid staffing shortages, one goal of this reporting system is to free up officers for emergency calls.
