Cost of college was unchanged for all students at Metropolitan Community College-Kansas City

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at Metropolitan Community College-Kansas City, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Missouri residents paid $5,520 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 29.3 percent more than residents this year, or $7,140. Their price tag was unchanged from $7,140 in 2017-18.

About 98 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Missouri residents. And about 1 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 84 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 2,005 students received grants or scholarships totaling $8.9 million and 156 students took out student loans totaling more than $691,076.

Including all undergraduates (16,351), 7,524 students used grants or scholarships totaling $27.9 million, and 1,420 students took out $8.3 million in federal student loans.
