About 22.7 percent of the 3,416 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in City conferred 399 doctor's degrees and 271 bachelor's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general business/commerce. Data shows the school gave out 268 bachelor's degrees in general business/commerce, followed by 178 master's degrees in computer science and 148 bachelor's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies.

The university enrolled 16,375 students for 2017-18, including 11,319 in undergraduate programs and 5,056 in graduate programs.
