Sporting Kansas City II lost 3-2 to MNUFC2 on Friday night in Rochester, Minnesota. The team now holds a record of 2-14-4 and remains at 11 points for the season. MNUFC2 improved to 8-8-4 with 29 points.

Forward Medgy Alexandre scored twice in the second half, marking his second brace of the season and bringing his total to eight goals in 2025, the most on the team. Despite Alexandre’s efforts, SKC II was unable to secure a win after leading briefly.

Head coach Istvan Urbanyi started Jack Kortkamp in goal, who made six saves during the match. Cielo Tschantret and Nati Clarke played as centerbacks, while Beckham Uderitz and Anthony Samways were positioned on the wings of defense. Blaine Mabie and Luis Cruz-Ayala operated as holding midfielders with Carter Derksen ahead of them. Alexandre led the attack with Maouloune Goumballe and Shane Donovan flanking him.

The first half saw SKC II create several opportunities but fail to score. Minnesota took a one-goal lead into halftime following a volley from Momoh Kamara in the 39th minute.

In the second half, Alexandre equalized before putting SKC II ahead less than five minutes later with assists from Nati Clarke and Luis Cruz-Ayala. However, Kamara responded with his second goal for MNUFC2 after a scramble near the box. Later, Alpha Kabia received a red card for Minnesota after two yellow cards in quick succession.

Despite being down to ten men, MNUFC2 scored again when Luke Hille tapped in a cross from Troy Putt for his tenth goal of the season in the 81st minute.

SKC II was unable to convert further chances before full time.

The next home game for Sporting KC II will be against Houston Dynamo 2 at Children’s Mercy Victory Field in Kansas City, Missouri on Sunday, August 17. Tickets are available at SeatGeek.com and fans can watch live on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV.
