Sporting Kansas City released its latest Player Availability Report on April 17 ahead of the team’s upcoming match against the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place.

The report, which provides status updates for players before each game, is based on information submitted to the league one day prior to matches. This week’s update shows only one change from last week for Sporting Kansas City: midfielder Manu Garcia is now listed as questionable due to a knee injury.

Several Sporting Kansas City players remain unavailable. Defender Zorhan Bassong (hamstring), goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland (ankle), defender Wyatt Meyer (ankle), and goalkeeper Ryan Schewe (hand) are all out for Friday’s match. The Vancouver Whitecaps also have several absences, with no players listed as questionable but defender Sam Adekugbe (Achilles), midfielder Ryan Gauld (knee), defender Belal Halbouni (knee), defender Ralph Priso (hamstring), defender Sebastian Schonlau (hamstring), and defender Ranko Veselinovic (knee) all ruled out.

The game marks the continuation of Sporting Kansas City’s three-game road trip and will see them face off against the current Supporters’ Shield leaders. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Central Time, with actual kick set for 9:40 p.m. The match will be available via streaming on Apple TV and broadcast locally on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.

The updated player statuses may impact both teams’ strategies as they contend with injuries during this stage of the season.
