Sporting Kansas City will face the Seattle Sounders FC on May 2 in a Major League Soccer regular season match at Children’s Mercy Park. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. Central Time, with kickoff set for 1:40 p.m.
The event marks Sporting Kansas City’s return home after three consecutive away matches and coincides with Kids Day festivities. Fans attending can expect a rally towel giveaway, special Sporting Style merchandise including summer scarves and Snoopy-themed t-shirts, as well as a postgame autograph session for Season Ticket Members and a youth soccer camp on the field. Hill’s Pet Nutrition will serve as the match title night partner, and pregame activities include unveiling Blue’s dog house on the plaza and disc dog performances during halftime.
Tickets are available through SeatGeek, with options such as the Coca-Cola Family & Friends 4-Pack that includes four tickets, Coca-Cola products, and chicken tenders for $100. A special Kids Day ticket also offers fans a Sporting KC x Snoopy bucket hat.
Seattle enters the Western Conference matchup unbeaten in its last six league games and currently holds one of Major League Soccer’s strongest defenses this season, conceding only four goals in eight matches. In contrast, Sporting Kansas City has lost six straight games across all competitions and has not scored in their last 333 minutes of play. The Sounders’ roster features several experienced players including Cristian Roldan—who leads Seattle with three goals this season—and Jesus Ferreira, who has recorded six assists across all competitions.
Roldan is joined by Jordan Morris in attack; Morris contributed both a goal and an assist in Seattle’s recent win over FC Dallas and has achieved twelve goal contributions against Sporting Kansas City throughout his career. According to Major League Soccer’s schedule announcement on social media, Saturday’s match will be part of an MLS tripleheader broadcast nationally on FOX networks.
Both teams have players listed as unavailable or questionable due to injuries ahead of Saturday’s contest. The game will be broadcast live in English on Apple TV (with Alex Heinert and Warren Barton) as well as nationally televised on FOX (Nate Bukaty and Devon Kerr) and FOX Deportes; Spanish coverage is also available locally via La Grande 1340 AM.
