Sporting Kansas City will play against the LA Galaxy on March 14 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. The match is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Central Time and will be broadcast in both English and Spanish on Apple TV, with additional radio coverage available locally.
This Western Conference game features several players and coaches who have been part of both organizations. Dejan Joveljic, who previously scored 41 goals and provided 17 assists for the Galaxy over four seasons—including a decisive goal in the 2024 MLS Cup final—joined Sporting Kansas City in a historic cash-for-player trade in 2025. Joveljic has since scored 20 goals for Sporting, matching club legend Preki as the fastest player to reach that milestone. He has also found success at Dignity Health Sports Park, scoring eight goals there across six consecutive matches from October 2024 to September 2025.
Sporting Kansas City will look to end a seven-game road losing streak with the addition of midfielder Lasse Berg Johnsen, who recently joined after receiving his P1 visa. Berg Johnsen was acquired from Swedish club Malmo FF and contributed to Norway’s qualification for FIFA World Cup 26 by appearing in two qualifying wins last year.
Both teams missed the playoffs last season and conceded the most goals in Major League Soccer. The LA Galaxy have strengthened their defense by acquiring Jakob Glesnes, a former MLS Defender of the Year, from Philadelphia and added Joao Klauss to their attack through a trade with St. Louis. Klauss currently leads Major League Soccer with four goals after scoring in each of the Galaxy’s three regular season matches this year.
The Galaxy are led by head coach Greg Vanney and midfielder Marco Reus. They have only one loss in six games across all competitions this season (two wins, one loss, three draws) and recently advanced past Mount Pleasant Football Academy of Jamaica with a 3-0 win in the Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16. However, Gabriel Pec—who scored all three goals in that victory—will be suspended for Saturday’s match due to a red card received last weekend against Colorado Rapids. Designated Players Joseph Paintsil (hamstring) and Riqui Puig (knee) are also unavailable due to injury.
