Sporting Kansas City has announced the release of center back Dany Rosero from its roster. Rosero, who is 31 years old, joined Sporting KC from Atletico Junior in Colombia in early 2023. During his time with the club, he appeared in 68 competitive matches and scored seven goals across all competitions. In Major League Soccer regular season play, he made 54 appearances and scored four goals.
Rosero contributed to several of the club’s recent achievements. He played a role in helping Sporting KC reach the 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs, advance to the final of the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and secure qualification for the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup.
Following this roster change, Sporting Kansas City now has 25 players under contract as it enters the last two months of the 2025 regular season.
The current roster includes three goalkeepers: Jack Kortkamp, John Pulskamp, and Ryan Schewe; nine defenders: Andrew Brody, Joaquin Fernandez, Ian James, Tim Leibold, Jansen Miller, Alan Montes, Logan Ndenbe, Khiry Shelton, and Robert Voloder; seven midfielders: Jacob Bartlett, Zorhan Bassong, Jake Davis, Manu Garcia, Nemanja Radoja, Memo Rodriguez, and Erik Thommy; and six forwards: Stephen Afrifa, Dejan Joveljic, Santiago Munoz, Daniel Salloi, Shapi Suleymanov, and Mason Toye.
