Sporting Kansas City is set to host Real Salt Lake on Saturday at Children’s Mercy Park. The match, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT, promises various fan activities, including Matt Besler’s induction into the Sporting Legends hall of honor. Fans can enjoy pre- and post-game giveaways, a new KC2026 countdown clock, and the team’s annual fireworks show.
Tickets for this MLS Cup 2013 rematch are available through SeatGeek. Ticket holders can order SportingStyle merchandise online for matchday pickup at the stadium. A special collection featuring Besler items will be available.
Besler will be honored during halftime with his name added above the championship wall in the stadium’s northwest corner. The first 10,000 fans will receive a commemorative poster, and Besler will sign autographs before kickoff.
Hill’s Pet Nutrition is the match title night partner and will feature an activation on Mazuma Plaza with a demonstration by KC Disc Dogs and pet adoptions with Wayside Waifs. Postgame giveaways include co-branded collapsible dog bowls and pet bandanas from Hill’s.
The event also includes a pregame flyover, a postgame fireworks show, and a naturalization ceremony for 36 new U.S. citizens from 22 countries. A countdown clock to FIFA World Cup 26 will be available near Hollywood Casino Gate for photo opportunities.
Sporting KC leads Real Salt Lake by one point in the Western Conference standings after a recent victory over Charlotte FC. Dejan Joveljic scored the game-winning goal in stoppage time, bringing his season total to 11 goals.
Real Salt Lake last played two weeks ago with a win over D.C. United, ending their seven-game winless streak. Johnny Russell scored in his first start for RSL after playing seven seasons with SKC.
Both teams face player absences due to injuries and international duties ahead of Saturday’s match.
