Sporting Kansas City announced on May 1 that it will host Kids Day during the upcoming match against the Seattle Sounders at Sporting Park on Saturday. The club provided fans with key information about road closures, stadium entry, ticketing, and special activities planned for the event.
The announcement is important for attendees as it covers several logistical updates and highlights new features aimed at improving the fan experience. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to participate in pre-game activities on Sporting Plaza and to be aware of traffic changes due to construction near the venue.
A portion of Village West Parkway near the I-70 / 110th St. exit is currently closed because of ongoing construction of a new Buc-ee’s location. Sporting Kansas City advised supporters to review updated maps and plan their routes accordingly.
The club reminded fans that various pyrotechnics and strobe lighting effects would be used during the event, which may not be suitable for those with certain medical conditions or light sensitivity. Supporter Stand ticket holders and Season Ticket Members are invited to visit the Budweiser Brew House before kickoff for prematch specials.
New technology will also be featured in one of the SportingStyle stores inside Sporting Park. “While in the stadium, be sure to check out our Amazon Just Walk Out technology in one of our SportingStyle stores! This technology is only featured at the SportingStyle store located on the east side of the building at the top of section 131 and is now the exclusive way to check out for this store location,” said club representatives in their statement.
Other reminders include cashless transactions throughout all concessions and merchandise stands, mobile-only tickets managed through SeatGeek Account Manager, a clear bag policy with specific size restrictions, as well as prohibitions on backpacks, smoking (including e-cigarettes), smokeless tobacco use inside Sporting Park, and wearing opposing team colors in designated supporter sections.
Fans seeking additional information about parking or stadium protocols are directed by organizers to consult official resources such as www.SportingKC.com/Stadium/Parking or refer to guides available through Apple Maps.
