Sporting Kansas City II will play against the undefeated Houston Dynamo 2 on April 26 at Victory Field, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. CT. The match can be watched live through the OneFootball app and MLSNEXTPro.com, and tickets are available for $10 on SeatGeek.com.
The upcoming game follows recent victories for both teams over Pacific Division opponents. Sporting KC II secured their first win of the season in a dramatic finish against Whitecaps FC 2, with Zamir Loyo Reynaga and Kashan Hines scoring late goals in the final minutes of the match.
Loyo Reynaga and Hines, who are part of the Sporting KC Academy, each scored their first professional goals during that game. Hines’ goal earned him recognition as MLS NEXT Rising Star of Matchweek 7, making him only the third player from SKC II to receive this award alongside Nati Clarke and Cielo Tschantret. Daniel Russo contributed his first assist for SKC II during his second appearance, helping set up Loyo Reynaga’s tying goal. Carter Derksen recorded two assists in the same match—his first two of the year.
Goalkeeper Jacob Molinaro made six saves to earn his first win of the season and currently ranks second in MLS NEXT Pro with a total of 27 saves so far this year.
Houston Dynamo 2 has built its strong start to the season around defense, conceding just one goal so far while ranking second in goals scored within their conference. Goalkeeper Pedro Cruz has kept four clean sheets out of five starts and was named MLS NEXT Pro Player of Matchweek after a seven-save shutout performance against Real Monarchs.
Looking ahead, Sporting KC II will continue their homestand by facing Tacoma Defiance on May 3 at Swope Soccer Village with kickoff set for 7 p.m. CT.
