Sporting Kansas City announced on April 11 a new series of fan engagement events called “Soccer Capital Summer,” to be held at Sporting Park in June and July. The announcement comes two months before the start of FIFA World Cup 26, which will run from June 11 to July 19.
The initiative aims to provide soccer fans with free access—requiring advance registration—to live match viewings, concerts, and other programming at Sporting Park. Organizers said the festivities will culminate with a watch party for the FIFA World Cup final on July 19.
Produced by Argyle Events by Sporting Kansas City, “Soccer Capital Summer” includes live broadcasts of more than twenty World Cup matches over ten days. The schedule features group stage quadruple-headers starting June 17, with opportunities for fans to watch international stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. The event continues through knockout rounds including both semifinals and the final.
The general admission area can accommodate up to 8,000 attendees with an additional capacity for premium ticket holders. Season Ticket Members are eligible for discounts on parking and concessions during these events. General admission tickets become available beginning April 20 for early matches and May 18 for later stages like semifinals and finals. Premium packages offer VIP experiences including preferred parking at Nebraska Furniture Mart and access to exclusive hospitality areas within the stadium.
Located in Village West—the top tourism destination in Kansas—Sporting Park is undergoing a $10 million modernization project that includes upgrades such as a new entertainment stage and a large video screen set above the plaza. In addition to hosting public events during “Soccer Capital Summer,” Sporting Park is designated as a Venue-Specific Training Site by FIFA and will host training sessions throughout the tournament.
