According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, over one thousand children have died from heatstroke when left or trapped in a hot car during the past 25 years. July is traditionally the month with the highest number of these preventable deaths due to the peak summer season.

Courtney Kisor and Shellie Barnett, certified child passenger safety technicians at Saint Luke’s East Hospital, provide strategies to prevent heatstroke in cars, recognize warning signs of overheating in children, and offer car seat safety tips for long road trips.
