Major League Soccer has announced the MLS Team of the Matchday presented by Audi for Matchday 21. Sporting Kansas City players John Pulskamp and Erik Thommy have been recognized among the top 20 players in the league after their team’s 1-1 draw with Real Salt Lake on Saturday.
John Pulskamp, who has started every match for Sporting in 2025, was selected for his second consecutive Team of the Matchday. He recorded seven saves during the game, helping to secure a point for his team. Pulskamp’s performance was crucial, especially after Sporting was reduced to 10 men in the 82nd minute. He made a significant low stop against Zavier Gozo and managed several dangerous crosses.
Erik Thommy contributed on offense with a goal from the edge of the area in the 59th minute, tying the game against Real Salt Lake. This marked his third goal of the season. The German midfielder now has four goal contributions in five regular-season appearances against RSL.
Sporting Kansas City will face off against Colorado Rapids on July 4 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The match is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CT and will be available on Apple TV through an MLS Season Pass subscription as well as locally on Sports Radio 810 WHB.
