The Major League Soccer (MLS) announced the Team of the Week presented by Audi for Matchday 20 of the regular season. Goalkeeper John Pulskamp and midfielder Manu García were recognized among the top 20 players in the league following their team’s 2-1 victory over Charlotte FC at Children’s Mercy Park on June 25, 2025.
García played a crucial role in Sporting’s two goals, providing assists for both. The first goal came in the 90+3 minute when García delivered a long pass to the center of the box where Toye was positioned. Toye scored with his left foot, equalizing the match during added time. Minutes later, García again sent a pass into the box, allowing Santi Muñoz to make a touch and find Joveljić, who then scored.
While the attack had a strong performance, Pulskamp’s defensive contributions were also significant. In a match where both teams had scoring opportunities, Pulskamp ensured that Charlotte FC’s chances were minimized. The 23-year-old goalkeeper made several key saves to keep his team in a position to equalize and eventually win.
Sporting Kansas City is now preparing to face Real Salt Lake on Saturday, June 28 at Children’s Mercy Park.
