Sporting Kansas City announced on Mar. 9 that midfielder Jake Davis will continue as the club’s ambassador for the 2026 Blue KC Sporting Samaritan program, following his debut in the role last season.
The Blue KC Sporting Samaritan initiative, which began in 2016, aims to recognize local students and teachers who contribute positively to the Kansas City community. Davis joins Matt Besler, a former Sporting Kansas City and U.S. Men’s National Team defender and a 2025 Sporting Legends inductee, as an ambassador for this program.
Davis is a product of the Sporting KC Academy and made his first-team debut at age 19 in 2021. Since then, he has scored three goals and provided twelve assists in 107 matches across all competitions. He was voted the team’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 and Most Valuable Player in 2024, when he was also selected to join the U.S. Olympic team for the Paris Summer Olympics.
Each season, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City partners with Sporting Kansas City to honor individuals nominated as Blue KC Sporting Samaritans for their dedication and positive impact on others. Honorees are recognized during pre-match festivities at home games with a VIP experience that includes a customized jersey, four tickets to watch from the Blue KC Samaritans Suite, and a parking pass. The person who nominates them receives two match tickets and a parking pass as well. Honorees also have an exclusive meet-and-greet with Davis on the pitch after their recognition match.
Blue KC is a longstanding First Team partner with Sporting Kansas City, serving as its official health insurance partner and presenting partner of several club initiatives.
