According to the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network, over 100,000 individuals in the United States are waiting for life-saving transplants. This week, insights were provided on the transplant process from both recipients’ and donors’ perspectives.

Matthew Wilkinson, MD, a surgeon within Saint Luke’s kidney and liver transplant program, and Erica Sparks, a transplant coordinator with Saint Luke’s, shared their experiences and knowledge regarding organ donation and transplantation. The discussions aimed to shed light on the experiences of those involved in this critical medical field.
