Jefferson City — Governor Mike Kehoe has signed ten bills into law, concluding a successful legislative session. The newly enacted laws include Senate Bills 105, 133, 145, and 271, as well as House Bills 145, 147, 225, 262, 595, and 596.
“Our bill signings this afternoon marked the official conclusion of an incredibly successful legislative session,” said Governor Kehoe. “We appreciate the members of the General Assembly for sending several pieces of common-sense legislation to my desk that will positively impact Missouri families and communities.”
Senate Bill (SB) 105 addresses invasive plants in Missouri by prohibiting certain nonnative species from being imported or sold within the state. SB 133 updates regulations on underground facilities to improve safety and efficiency. SB 145 exempts young entrepreneurs from certain licensing fees to encourage youth business initiatives. SB 271 revises emergency services standards and expands Good Samaritan protections.
House Bill (HB) 145 enhances privacy protections under the Judicial Privacy Act and Sunshine Law. HB 147 reforms retirement funding for sheriffs and restricts investments in sanctioned entities. HB 225 increases compensation for line-of-duty deaths among first responders and modifies police vehicle requirements. HB 262 establishes support for veterans with PTSD through alternative therapies like hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
HBs 595 and 596 focus on real estate transactions by protecting property rights and requiring written agreements between brokers and clients.
