Children’s Mercy has announced the addition of four new members to its Board of Directors. These appointments aim to enhance the organization’s mission to improve children’s health and well-being through diverse expertise in science, business, and community engagement.

The new board members are Alejandro Sanchez Alvarado, Sean L. Hart, Mark Jorgenson, and Laura McConnell. Each brings a wealth of experience in their respective fields. Sanchez Alvarado is recognized for his contributions to regenerative medicine research. Hart has a background in oncology and rare disease research with Precision for Medicine. Jorgenson is a retired financial executive with extensive experience at U.S. Bank. McConnell leads Labconco as Chairman and CEO.

Alejandro Quiroga, CEO & President of Children’s Mercy, stated: “As a national leader in pediatric research, science and clinical care, we are honored to welcome these distinguished new board members.” He emphasized their shared commitment to transforming children’s potential through innovation and world-class care.

Additionally, Children’s Mercy expressed gratitude to Bill Krueger for his decade-long service on the Board of Directors. Diane Gallagher, Board Chair at Children’s Mercy, acknowledged Krueger’s contributions: “We express our heartfelt appreciation to him as we continue to build on the foundation he helped establish.”
